The project was centered around a deep collaboration with an artisan bakery, with which we wanted to visually express our appreciation for our customers. With a photo of a baker proudly presenting a pastry box we manufactured at its core, the goal was clear: to not only enrich the hall aesthetically but also to connect visitors directly upon entry with the heart of our craftsmanship.

The creative process behind this project was an adventure in itself. By collaborating with a locally respected baker, I aimed to capture the authentic atmosphere of artisan bakeries, reflected in our product design. This photo composition, carefully compiled and edited, seeks to take every viewer to the moment of pride and satisfaction our customers experience. Concept Development

The concept development for this project started with a clear mission: to visually express the craftsmanship of our clients and their connection with our product. Inspired by the passion and craft of the bakery world, the idea emerged to translate these values into a visual narrative that reflects the essence of Van De Velde Packaging. Using AI technology, I began creating a series of images that would lay the groundwork for our concept, seeking a way to visualize the unique bond between our company and our clients.

This preparatory phase was crucial for the project’s development. It was a period of intensive brainstorming and experimenting, where each AI-generated image served as a stepping stone towards deeper creative insights. The decision to use Bakkerij Putter as the backdrop for our photoshoot stemmed from this experimental phase; it offered the perfect setting to bring our vision to life. The preparations involved not only choosing the location but also meticulously planning how each detail – from the positioning of the model to the selection of the pastry box – would contribute to telling our story. Photoshoot Coordination

The photoshoot at Bakkerij Putter transformed a calm evening into a dynamic artistic endeavor. The bakery’s atmospheric setting provided the perfect backdrop to bring our vision to life. We meticulously selected spots within the bakery that captured both its authentic ambiance and artisanal craftsmanship. Guided by a colleague photographer and with the spontaneous cooperation of our model, we gradually visualized our concept, aiming to create an environment that conveyed the bakery’s genuineness and narrative optimally.

After closing hours, in a tranquil setting, we embarked on capturing a series of images that highlighted the essence and atmosphere of the bakery. The photoshoot, carefully planned and executed, yielded over a hundred photos. These images served as the visual foundation for our project, and utilizing a well-lit setting ensured that every detail was crisply captured. This collection of photos ultimately laid the groundwork for the image that not only expressed the warmth and ambiance of the bakery but also illustrated the connection with the quality of our pastry boxes.

The photo editing process was a meticulous task, where every pixel, every shadow, and every detail was carefully adjusted to create a harmonious and visually captivating composition. The challenge lay not only in selecting and combining the best elements from more than a hundred photos but also in correcting technical limitations such as resolution and lighting. This process involved strategically merging different photos, bringing the fire in the oven to life, and multiplying the bread in the background to make the racks appear full. Each edit aimed to enhance the warm and artisan atmosphere of the bakery and highlight the authenticity and dedication in each loaf of bread.

In addition to traditional photo editing techniques, I used AI-driven tools to enrich the composition with additional elements, like a bundt cake on the counter and smoke effects that increase the scene’s liveliness. This fusion of human creativity and artificial intelligence resulted in an image that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also tells a story of craftsmanship and care. From print production to installation, every detail was handled with precision and care. The challenge of transforming the digital composition into a physical size of 2×3 meters, without losing quality in detail or color, was expertly addressed. The final result, an impressive print that now adorns the hall of Van De Velde Packaging – Veerkarton, stands as evidence of the possibilities that arise when creativity and technology come together. This carefully framed canvas reminds every visitor of the craftsmanship and dedication that form the core of our products and services.

Large Format Print Production
